Freeride Heli-Skiing

Steep Shots & Pillow Drops

Refine your skills in the best of the backcountry

Push your powder skills to the limit as you float, tap and drop through the very best of our three-million-acre playground with other skilled skiers and riders.

Freeride heli-skiing: as big as you dare

Ever wanted to learn how to navigate a pillow line? Have you been tempted to send it off something but you’re not sure how to do so safely? This trip is the perfect environment in which to experiment, tighten your already-strong skills, and try different types of featured terrain alongside your peers.

A Steep Shots & Pillow Drops Trip pairs the biggest bowls, steepest drops and leg-burning lines with our team of expert backcountry coaches and featured guest athletes. Every skier and snowboarder has a style that’s all their own — uncover your personal flair as you take on rad drops or dad drops (or neither, if you prefer. No terrain feature is mandatory.) Our expert guides give you the coaching you need to spot features and find the most dynamic line on any slope.

We go big, but we also go safely. Skiing just beyond your comfort zone doesn't mean the danger zone. With the most advanced safety equipment, expert guides and all-mountain monitoring, this is one of the most supervised forms of freeride skiing you’ll find.

Skiable Terrain

CMH has exclusive access to:

3,000,000 acres

CMH's total terrain is bigger than all North American ski areas put together. That’s not a typo. Our exclusive three-million-acre territory is 20x larger than all the combined chairlift skiing on the continent. Woah. It would likely take several years to ski all our runs more than once — but we’re happy to help you try. Just throwin’ the challenge out there.

Average vertical

On an average 5-day trip, expect to ski & ride up to:

21,780m / 71,000 ft

On a 5-day CMH Steep Shots & Pillow Drops Trip, you'll log around 71,000 vertical feet of skiing and riding, which is approximately 45 heli rides worth of “Yewwwwww!” (This amount will vary based on trip length, run length, group dynamics, weather, etc.) Fun fact: to log the same amount of vertical at a resort, you’d have to spend 6-7 hours in a lift line and take double the number of chairlift rides. Heli, please.
