We’ve spent decades in these mountains and know which equipment will allow you to have the best experience on-mountain.

When you join us for a trip, we take care of most of the gear, including safety equipment. Your use of this equipment comes at no extra cost and is part of your trip. You bring your clothes, outerwear, ski or snowboard boots, helmet and goggles, and we’ll outfit you with the following:

Skis & Snowboards

We strive to set you up for the best turns of your life — this includes using industry-leading equipment. We’ve partnered with Atomic and Burton to provide the best skis and boards suited for big backcountry powder days.

Skiers
We provide all heli-skiers* with specially designed heli-skis and poles. Ski boots are not provided - please bring your own. 

Snowboarders
Bring your own board, or we have a number of snowboards available.  Snowboard boots are not provided. Please bring your own. 

*If you are joining us for a heli-assisted ski touring trip, you must bring your own equipment. Skis, skins, poles and boots are not included.

Here’s a run-down of the skis and boards that we stock at our CMH destinations. 

 

Atomic Backland 102W & 107W 

Available at all destinations except CMH Kootenay

The Backland 102 & 107 are Atomic’s premium powder skis for women and deliver an especially uplifting experience in powder snow. Their 102 or 107mm waist widths and Powder Rocker ensure optimum lift. The Backlands also deliver optimum edge grip and precision control even on harder snow. They are both effortless and easy to maneuver in powder snow.

Atomic Backland 107

The Atomic Backland 107 delivers great freeride performance in a wide and lightweight package. The 107 provides more surface area for maximum flotation in deep pow, while being capable of charging through crud and chop with total confidence.

Blizzard Spur

The Blizzard Spur is the ultimate pow ski for deep powder days. The Spur has varying waist widths, that are specific to the skier’s length of choice. The rocker-camber-rocker profile makes the Spur nimble with effortless float on all types of powder.

Atomic Backland 117

At 117mm underfoot the Backland 117 is still light weight and delivers more surface area for maximum flotation in deep pow. The 117 is capable of charging through crud and chop with total confidence, and allows for smooth and stable handling on harder snow. Created for big mountain skiers dropping big lines in big terrain.

K2 Pontoon

Designed with the same philosophy of slaying powder easier, faster and with less effort, the all-new Pon2oon has Rockers in the tip and tail and features a redesigned Powder tip and a non-twin tip Progressive Powder tail. While the ski has a similar pivot performance to its predecessor, it now comes with more predictable turn initiation and added breaking power in the tail. The dimensions on the Pon2oon increase as the ski gets longer, maxing out at a whopping 134 mm underfoot in the 189 cm size.

The Mindbender 108 quickly enables skiers to become accustomed to skiing big lines faster and more aggressively than before. Whether the snow is soft, firm, chunky or all of the above, you’ll be ready to play through.

The Mindbender 116C is a powder ski built for those epic days everyone dreams of. A generous 116mm waist floats through powder and powers through chop. This surprisingly lightweight ski lets you take on the burliest of lines and the reality of getting to the stash and back again.

Atomic Bent Chetler 120

Burton 3D Fish

Available at all destinations

The Burton 3D Fish uses surf-board inspired 3D convex shaping in the tip and tail which gives the board a great level of surfability, responsiveness, and control in deep snow. This board is best suited for intermediate to expert riders who may be getting into very deep snow for the first time, or are looking for effortless float and a surfy ride.

Prior Slasher 

Available at all destinations

The Prior Slasher is for the advanced to expert rider looking for a stiffer option to aggressively carve and slash through all terrain features. The long effective edge and swallowtail design means that you can ride this 3-4cm shorter than your normal resort board.

Prior Legacy (Limited availability)

Available at all destinations

The shorter than average length and unconventional shape gives this board exceptional speed and float that allows you to charge tight lines, aggressively carve open faces, or rip though trees. Due to the width of the board it is recommended that the riders boots are Men’s size 8US and up.

Salomon Taka

Available at all destinations

A huge rockered nose provides massive float to stay up on the steep and deep, while a thoughtful, lightweight, and powerful construction keeps the ride maneuverable and powerful. This board is great for intermediate to expert riders looking for traditional shape that is easy to maneuver and will stay afloat on the deepest days.

Salomon Bellevue (Limited availability)

Available at all destinations

The wider design floats through pow and the Backseat Camber brings the control to your back foot for fast, peppy turns and control in waist deep snow. Turning and getting on edge is easy thanks to the Quadratic Sidecut, so you won't even notice the wide waist until you're effortlessly flying through bottomless pow and snagging the perfect Insta hero shot..
